This is a 0.7734 oz 2009-P Louis Braille $1 Silver Commemorative Proof Coin sold by APMEX. It comes in a U.S. Mint box with a certificate of authenticity. The coin is made of 90% silver. The obverse features a portrait of Louis Braille, while the reverse shows a child reading a book in Braille with the word 'Braille' above him and 'INDEPENDENCE' on a bookshelf behind. This is the first U.S. coin to feature readable Braille.
