This is a 0.5 oz Gold Coin sold by APMEX. Authenticated and certified by PCGS as one of the first 500 coins struck, issued by the Central Bank of Ireland. Contains 0.999 fine Gold. The obverse features a Celtic harp within a wreath next to the "International Polar Year" logo, while the reverse depicts the denomination and Irish Antarctic explorers Ernest Shackleton and Tom Crean with an expedition ship in the background.
