Minted at the Potosi mint in Bolivia, these coins were recovered from a shipwreck that sank off the coast of Ecuador in 1681, displaying typical corrosion from underwater exposure. With a purity of 0.903, the obverse features Pillars and Waves dividing denomination and date, while the reverse shows the Spanish coat of arms bisected by a Maltese cross.
